Insurance and Claims at Georgia Tech provides guidance, coverage requirements, and support for reporting and managing institute‑related incidents. The office helps departments navigate liability, automotive coverage, workers’ compensation processes, and event‑related insurance needs. Campus partners can access policies, forms, and contacts to ensure claims are submitted accurately and in compliance with the state, University System of Georgia, and the Institute’s policies and requirements.  

What We Support

Liability Insurance

Guidance on incidents involving injury, property damage to others, or claims filed against the Institute. Includes tort claims, incident reporting, and insurance requirements for events, programs, and activities. 

Automobile Insurance

Coverage for state‑owned, leased, rented, and personal vehicles used for official business. Includes liability, physical damage agreement, rental requirements, and driver safety expectations.

Workers' Compensation

Coverage for state‑owned, leased, rented, and personal vehicles used for official business. Includes liability, physical damage agreement, rental requirements, and driver safety expectations. 

Events, Programs and Special Activities

Insurance requirements for events, youth programs, volunteers, special exhibits (e.g., animals), and alcohol‑related activities.
